The Cancer Institute at Alexian Brothers is excited to offer to its cancer patients the use of our Patient Navigation Services. These are individuals or “navigators” who are trained to help cancer patients through the sometimes confusing and complex health care system. Cancer patients are provided one-on-one attention from a navigator that guides them through their cancer journey.

Patients with a diagnosis of cancer face complex care and treatment decisions throughout their journey.  Timely education, support and appropriate referrals are crucial to optimal outcomes.  The nurse navigator helps the patient with each step along the way.

He/she can also help by anticipating and avoiding potential barriers of care: financial, communication, information and transportation. The navigator helps newly diagnosed patients, those undergoing treatment as well as those needing follow up or palliative care.

The Cancer Institute at Alexian Brothers has Patient Navigators to assist you through your cancer experience.
